DESCRIPTION

A bootable CD walks you through an easy installation of embedded Linux 2.4.18 on either a CompactFlash or hard drive.

This board support package features a compact implementation of the GNU/Linux operating systems based on the proven 2.4 kernel. Octagon's OS Embedder is configured for use with the 2050 PC/104 single board computer. This optimized kernel offers an embedded version of Linux with driver support for all on–board hardware. The result is a highly cost–effective, integrated solution.

CUSTOM OCTAGON DRIVERS
Compiled in 2.4.18 kernel:
   • Watchdog timer: Reboots system automatically if glitches disrupt program.
   • Serial EEPROM: Eliminates boot failures with or without battery.
   • Temperature sensor: Monitors CPU temperature as a system safeguard.

LINUX MODULES & DRIVERS
   • Standard Linux module: Digital I/O over parallel port (provided by parport programming interface) for on–board, industrial monitoring and control capabilities.
