Adapter card for CardBus Type I, II, III formats
Hardware:
The 2851 CardBus Adapter module is a PC/104–Plus expansion card that provides a single PC Card (also known as PCMCIA) or CardBus slot. The single CardBus socket is compliant with the PC Card Standard (Rev 7.2). The slot accepts 8–, 16–, or 32–bit PC Card expansion cards. These are small cards, about the size of a credit card, which are also known as PC Card and CardBus Cards. These cards can be either Type I, Type II, or Type III format.
The socket has an ejector button for easy removal of cards. The socket supports both 5V and 3.3V cards. A CardBus card is connected through the PC/104–Plus connector as a PCI device and provides higher performance than the 16–bit PC Card. The PC/104-Plus expansion bus supports mastering devices.
