Displays: DP vacuum fluorescent & LCD
SDA–1 adapter
The DP series:
Provide bright, highly readable, operator feedback or status information, filtered to any color. The 96 upper and lower case characters are 0.2 in. high and readable to about 6 ft. These rugged displays can withstand 20G of shock in all three axes. Temperature range is 0–50° C.
The displays use a simple 8–bit parallel interface. The cable plugs into a DP–IFB interface board for operation from a digital I/O port. They can also plug into the SDA–1 serial display adapter for operation up to 50 ft. from an Octagon system.
DP–2x20 LxHxD including connector:
• 4.50” (w) x 1.50” (h) x 1.05” (d)
• 2–line by 20–character
• Allow 1 in. above the board for ventilation.
DP–4x20 LxHxD including connector:
• 5.50” (w) x 2.50” (h) x 1.02” (d)
• 4–line by 20–character
• Allow 1 in. above the board for ventilation.
The SDA–1:
Converts serial data to parallel and drives a DP series display. The serial interface can be RS–232/422. The SDA–1 may be located up to 50 ft. for RS–232 and 4,000 feet for RS–422 from the serial port. Up to three SDA–1 cards may be used with a serial port so that the same information can be displayed at different locations.
A 36 in. cable is provided with a 10–pin IDC connector for direct connection to a serial port.
The LCD series display:
Provide operator feedback or status information in a low–power mode. The high contrast LCD displays have LED backlighting that can be controlled separately from the displays. The dot matrix characters are readable to about 6 ft. You can write to any position on the display or cause characters to scroll horizontally. The IFB interface cards provide a convenient method of connecting Octagon cards with various displays and keypads.
