Matrix keypads

The KP series keypads offer convenient operator interface, system setup and diagnostic functions. A 36–in. cable with connector is included with all models for easy interface with Octagon cards. CAMBASIC supports scanning and debouncing in the background. Software drivers are available in QuickBASIC and C with Octagon CPU cards. The IFB interface cards provide a convenient method of connecting Octagon cards with various displays and keypads.

KP–1 lowest cost model:

Sealed elastomeric switch contacts. It is a "touch" type with no key travel. The keys are sealed to the environment. The housing may be sealed to the panel if necessary with silicone adhesive. The life expectancy is 3 million operations minimum for each key. The cable has a 10–pin IDC connector.

KP–3 weatherproof model:

Fully sealed, NEMA 2–rated keypad for outdoor use where protection from liquid splash is required. A military grade, one–piece rubber boot completely seals the contact system and the keypad to the panel. The unit is EMI shielded so that the integrity of the equipment is maintained even with the mounting cutout. The life expectancy is 3 million operations minimum for each key. The cable has a 10–pin IDC connector.

• KP–3 is 3.10" square and extends 0.45" in front of a panel and 0.55 in. behind a panel.
